“This was an amazing shoot. All of the people that worked together on it got along so well and produced fantastic results. We originally came up with this shoot as a something to do during the slow season. We missed shooting weddings in the very cold months in Minnesota, so we decided to set one up of our own. Instead of setting up an event stylized shoot like so many others we have seen, we decided rather to focus on the style of a wedding in a studio setting. We worked with two models, as two brides, each in contrasting style of dress. Helena wore a vintage inspired strapless, backless gown, while Cassandra was dressed in a very romantic lace gown with a sweetheart bodice. The first had a near roaring ’20s style to it, while the other almost colonial, looked like something out of a dollhouse. Both dresses were as lovely as the women wearing them and contrasted beautifully.
Aside from the women and dresses, we worked with a studio in Northeastern Minneapolis with a very distressed look to it. We brought an antique chair we personally owned to the set to see how it would work and it basically glued together the images. Our florist was amazing, putting together bouquets with a simple description of what we were planning for the feel of the shoot. And last, but not least, our hair and makeup artist worked with us to develop a very simple style, which we personally love.”
