“This wedding was filled with so many details it was awesome! Alex and Erica tied the knot on Saturday May 14, 2016 at the beautiful Grand Plaza Hotel in St. Pete Beach, FL at sunset. A couple of high school sweethearts who just celebrated their 10 year anniversary finally got to celebrate their love with the sweetest ceremony I have ever photographed. With their family and friends from all over the United States seated beachfront to watch them say their vows and exchange rings, they could not have asked for anything more.
Each owning their unique gown, hair and makeup looks, both girls looked flawless! The girls each exchanged gifts with each other including jewelry to be worn on the wedding day, a personalized book, and other items that were so touching. Erica had chosen to do a first look with her family and bridal party and there was no shortage of tears. However, I must say that my most memorable part is when her grandfather gave her the biggest hug, a kiss on the cheek and a couple of happy tears rolled down their faces. Such a happy moment.
After a few hours of preparation, the girls were ready for the first reveal to each other. Luckily the girls had custom hankies made for each other with bride written on them. We chose to do the first look at the main entrance to the hotel. The stage was set and both Erica and Alex waited in their doorways. On our count the girls stepped out of the doorways and their faces were priceless. They quickly greeted each other with a big hug, kiss and of course, some tears. It was a beautiful moment.
The ceremony started at 6pm (sunset). Between the rows of palm trees, the guests waited for the brides to make their entrance. First, Erica made her way to the alter with both her mom and dad at her side. Next, Alex did the same with her mom and step dad. Both girls were beaming with happiness and I could not have been more thrilled for them. These two are so in love and I could not wait to see them finally become wives. The vows were said, the rings were exchanged and they sealed it with a kiss. They did it! They are now Mrs. & Mrs. Updyke!”
