“Gloria and Maggie met through friends at Juniata College in the fall of 2006. While keeping in touch but going their separate ways, Gloria and Maggie reconnected in May of 2013 and they hit the ground running. After a few flights to and from Denver and Philadelphia, they both knew together was where they belonged. So, with a move to Denver, Gloria and Maggie began their life together spending their free time homesteading, camping, hiking, snowboarding, and going on adventures with their dog, Kai, and friends.
Maggie set up a surprise proposal on the top of Buffalo Pass in Routt County. Maggie set up a camping trip and invited one of our closest friends, who was a photographer. Gloria and Maggie left Denver to head to Steamboat for this camping trip, hit weekend summer traffic and Maggie began to get nervous. The rest of the drive included Maggie seeming to be antsy and Gloria oblivious. We reached the top of Buffalo Pass, where every campsite we passed was already full. As we passed a large campsite that overlooked Steamboat we noticed a tent already set up and the spot appeared to be taken, we weren’t sure where we would set up or if we would find a spot. The people at the campsite ran over and invited us to share their site as it was too large for just the three of them. Maggie asked Gloria to watch the sunset before setting up the campsite and had brought with her some surprises! A bottle of wine, a meaningful letter, flowers and then an engagement ring. Maggie proposed to Gloria as the sun was setting over Steamboat with beautiful views.”
