“This wedding is full of bold colors, metallic accents, and spectacular displays. Kristal and Stacie put on a fairytale wedding to remember. Kristal handmade the invitations and programs. At the end of the night, they surprised their guests with a fireworks display! Green Gables was the perfect event space, and so many vendors came together to create a magical night.”
“Stacie and Kristal grew up on opposite ends of West Virginia. Stacie grew up in a small southern West Virginia town and Kristal is from a town in the North Central WV area. When Stacie graduated from high school she moved north to attend WVU on a basketball scholarship. Being the entrepreneur that she was, Stacie saved her money and opened up a little college pub called Purple Rain. Prince was Kristal’s favorite musician as well, so she would quietly appear there sometimes to listen to the song purple rain, which always closed out the night. Stacie and Kristal were never formally introduced but they both caught each other’s eye.
Fast forward to Stacie’s graduation from college. Kristal was the general manager of a new restaurant in Morgantown across from the insurance agency where Stacie was working her first professional job. At least twice a week Kristal would see Stacie walking across the street, not for lunch, but to ask (yet again) for a meeting with Kristal about getting insurance for her employees. Stacie was persistent. Kristal never bought the insurance.
Time passed. Kristal moved to Myrtle Beach and Stacie started working in Pittsburgh for State Farm. Time passed again and Kristal and her daughter moved back to WV. Stacie was still making many trips back to Morgantown because all of her best friends were there. Stacie and Kristal’s paths crossed once again. Being in the same circles of people, they were reacquainted and became friends again.
Kristal invited Stacie to her birthday dinner one year. Since Stacie was (and is) always the life of every party and Kristal enjoyed her company, her birthday became an annual event that they would spend together. Stacie was given her permanent position with State Farm insurance and was placed in Davidsville, a little further away, but she still made it to every birthday party.
One evening when they randomly bumped into each other, Stacie had just had her hair done and Kristal told her how she admired the trendy cut and color. Stacie explained to her that her hair stylist just so happened to be with her that evening and whenever Kristal wanted her hair done to just make the appointment and put it on her tab. Kristal likes to tell the story of how she thought Stacie was just the nicest person, and Stacie tells a different story of conspiring with the stylist. When the appointment was made the stylist would tell Stacie and she would drive down and be there and just ‘happen’ to have lunch free. So they’d go on an impromptu lunch date. See in all the time that Stacie and Kristal had become friends, Stacie had grown to look at Kristal in a different way. Stacie was persistent in wanting Kristal to make that appointment. But Kristal would have never accepted such an extravagant gift.
So time passed and a mutual friend was having a birthday party where Stacie and Kristal ended up at the same place once again. As the night grew later Stacie and Kristal went outside to share a quiet moment together to talk. On this night, Stacie finally had the courage to tell Kristal of her feelings for her. Of course Kristal was shocked, albeit pleasantly, surprised. Kristal thought Stacie was kind, beautiful, smart and charismatic, but had never entertained the idea of anything more than a friendship with her. The prospect became exciting for the both of them. But they lived two hours apart from each other both with different lives and careers. Stacie called Kristal all the time. She was very persistent. They talked for hours on end about everything. Months after the phone calls began, they started visiting one another. And months after that they were both in love.
Christmas that year was special. At a party that Stacie held every year for close friends and clients at her house, she had more than just a party planned. A romantic proposal for a life of love and happiness was planned for the morning of the party. As Stacie went to bed that evening nervous and dreaming of a life filled with the love that only Kristal had shown her, she made final arrangements for the morning. Champagne, a lonely boat dock at a beautiful lake, trees filled with beautiful fresh snow, and a ring in her pocket. Morning came, along with a horrendous case of the stomach flu. As the champagne chilled alone on the boat dock, Stacie, in her robe, hung her head over the toilet all morning. Kristal cared for her and realized that day that she wanted to care for her forever. She realized that there was nowhere else in the world she would rather be than cleaning up the flu mess that Stacie had made that day. Kristal’s realization further proved to Stacie that Kristal was the one. And remember, Stacie is persistent. She wasn’t going to let one more moment of their lives pass and risk the chance of not closing the most important deal of her life.
Kristal was full of nerves and about to entertain an entire house full of Stacie’s friends and clients by herself (most of which she had never met). And Stacie was full of nerves hoping that Kristal’s answer would be a resounding YES. Without one more moment to lose, she grabbed Kristal about a half hour before guests were to arrive. Got down on one knee in her bathrobe. Kristal thought Stacie was about to pass out from sickness when Stacie lifted her head pulled a beautiful ring out of the pocket of her bathrobe, apologized for the unromantic nature of the proposal, but would Kristal please make the commitment to be in love and in life forever with her. Stacie’s persistence paid off. And happily ever after began.”
