What made you decide to become a wedding photographer?
Our teams at Pink Palm Photo come from various backgrounds – travel photography, architecture, design and more, but we all share a love of story-telling through imagery! And we all love LOVE!
How would you describe your style?
Pink Palm Photo is about capturing the fun of your wedding day: our style combines candid photojournalism with relaxed portraiture!
What do you love most about your job?
We love the capturing the beauty and love of the wedding day! Whether that is the glamour of the bride as she puts on her dress, the incredible ocean and beach settings here in Los Cabos, or the pure joy of a couple’s happiness as they walk down the aisle!
As destination photographers based in Cabo, Mexico, we love to make images that really show off the beautiful locations here as well.
A close second to the capturing images on the wedding day itself is the reactions of our couples when they view their images – there’s nothing better than knowing we have captured a memory that will bring continued joy!
What challenges come with being a wedding photographer?
As wedding photographers, one challenge is not copying ourselves – sounds weird right?! But every couple is different and we want to make sure their images are unique to them and reflect who they are. We love when couples love our work, but we would rather create something special for them than reproduce an image on our website we did for another couple. Challenging ourselves to do something new at each wedding – whether it’s a different perspective to a location we regularly shoot at or a different way to pose the couple – is something we love!
Another challenge is all the pre-wedding office work and post-wedding production – luckily, here at Pink Palm Photo, we have an awesome concierge team who does these things for us so we the photographers can focus on making amazing images!
Tell us a little bit about your process from booking to image delivery.
Pink Palm Photo is unique in that we have a big team all working together to make the process as easy and fun as possible for everyone!
Our concierge in the office works with couples to make the booking & payment process seamless while our photographers focus on doing what we do best – shooting!
Inquire online at www.pinkpalmphoto.com, get more info and a phone call from us, pay a 50% retainer to secure your date, and the balance three weeks prior to the wedding day. Along the way, we’ll help you with planning and any questions you might have about getting married here in Mexico!
And then once the wedding day is over, our production team work together to edit the images to look their very best and create amazing print and album products!
Do you have a favorite memory while shooting a wedding?
So many wonderful memories with our couples! But a recent one we won’t soon forget is the time two of our brides were running along the beach together and got splashed with an extra-big wave – their awesome reaction to a true Mexico wedding moment was just great! We love when our couples just enjoy the moment!
What advice can you give to couples who are currently looking for their wedding photographer?
- Look through their portfolio extensively to get an idea of the style and depth of the photography. Can they share a full wedding with you? Do you like the way the images are edited? Do you like the work? That is ultimately the most important!
- Think about the type of photography and type of photography experience you want. Do you want more candid photographs that are taken when you are unaware of the camera? Do you want lots of posed images? More editorially-styled portraits? Do you want to spend a lot of time devoted to your photography? Do you want your photographer to interact and direct? Or be more unobtrusive? Thinking about this will help you find your perfect photographer match!
- Notice the customer service – do they respond quickly to emails? Are they helpful with suggestions? Particularly for destination weddings, you want a team who will be there throughout the process and after the wedding day as well!
